Far Cry New Dawn cross-play has been a question on the minds of players ahead of the game’s February 15 release date. Fans of the franchise want to know if co-op carries over from Far Cry 5 and, if it does, if it applies to cross platform play too. Read on to see if Far Cry New Dawn cross-play support is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Far Cry New Dawn cross-play | Does it have multiplayer?
You can put those worries to bed. Far Cry New Dawn does have a multiplayer mode that lets you play co-operatively with a friend. As we mentioned in the intro, Far Cry 5 — Far Cry New Dawn‘s predecessor — had a multiplayer option that allowed two friends to fight side by side in Hope County.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that a game, which follows on from the events of Far Cry 5, carries its co-op mode over to this title too. The big question now, however, is if cross-play functionality is available in Far Cry New Dawn or not.
Far Cry New Dawn cross-play | Is cross-platform supported?
We don’t like being the bearer of bad news, but no, Far Cry New Dawn cross-play won’t be a feature that comes with the game. Threads like this one have popped up on the game’s Reddit page in the run up to release day to posit the question to those who may be in the know.
The replies reveal that cross-platform support won’t be available in Far Cry New Dawn though. It’s a pity when you consider that other titles have this functionality, and that people play on different platforms these days. If you want to play with your mates in Far Cry New Dawn, you’ll have to do so from the comfort of someone’s couch. Yep, just like the old days of co-op play.
