Blizzard Announces Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, A F2P CCG

Demons, monsters, dwarves… cards? Blizzard is taking their beloved Warcraft franchise and packing it into a free-to-play collectible-card-game called Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. In the online game, you can choose from 9 WoW classes, collect cards, and engage in online multiplayer battles. Blizzard has already launched the sign-up page on their website and a beta is planned for summer.

Fifteen people working on the title at Blizzard set out to develop a competitive game that's "small in scope, but epic in gameplay," Blizzard Chief Creative Officer Rob Pardo said during the announcement panel at PAX East.

We'll have more on the game as it nears launch including gameplay, but for now check out the trailer for this CCG. Blizzard experimenting with smaller projects? What does this mean for Titan? Hearthstone will be out on PC and Mac, with an iPad version also in the works for release after the initial launch.
