Tell GR | What do you want to see in Borderlands 3?

Borderlands 3 has finally been revealed, with Gearbox debuting the first trailer for the game at PAX East. The long-awaited sequel will apparently feature one billion guns, but what else does it need to stand out from the pack?

The GameRevolution editorial team discussed our thoughts on what we want to see from Borderlands 3 below. As always, you can leave your own responses in the comments section, and we’ll feature our favorite in tomorrow’s Tell GR.

Paul Tamburro, executive editor: “More ridiculous ideas for quests, fewer dated references to tired memes. I played a lot of Borderlands 2 though didn’t necessarily love it, but when compared with the beige loot shooters we’re bombarded by these days, I’d go all-in for something a little different.”

Jason Faulkner, senior editor: “I never really got into Borderlands, so that’s a toughie. I always liked the idea of a single-player loot shooter, so I hope they don’t make it overly centric on multiplayer. I’d like a relaxing game where I can just run around shooting folks and get cool new guns to use.”

Mack Ashworth, lead editor: “I’m hoping for more of the same from Borderlands 3. I don’t want it to go down a wild route of MMO or battle royale. Just give me the co-op with four players, lots of weapons to use against ridiculous bosses, and a funny story full of hilarious characters.”

Michael Leri, features editor: “I’d like to see at least one mission apologizing for Aliens Colonial Marines. But if that won’t happen, it would be nice to see the game be a bigger step forward than the last iteration. Pre-Sequel seemed to have come and went and probably had some good ideas buried within the samey half step. But honestly, I’d still much prefer an apology for that terrible Aliens game.”

Question: Was the PlayStation State of Play presentation disappointing?

Lacerz: “As a PSVR owner, I thought State of Play was great!”
