Persona 5 S teaser site launches and fans have found a hidden message

Persona 5 S teaser site has launched, pointing fans to the date when more information regarding the upcoming game will be released. The new site features a hidden calling card that shares some cryptic secrets, telling readers that the announcement will “turn the world’s cognition on its head.”

PS5.jp was launched earlier today, with Persona fans promptly rummaging through its source code in order to unearth the following message (via Gematsu):

“Calling Card

April 25, 2019.

We will show you a new Phantom Thieves that will turn the world’s cognition on its head.

We are energized by voices that seek satisfaction.

Once again, we will take your heart at the Ryougoku Kokugikan.

—From the Phantom Thieves.”

The Ryougoku Kokugikan is an indoor arena in Tokyo, with the ‘Persona Super Live P-Sound Street 2019: Welcome to No. Q Theater’ concert set to be held at the venue. Its second day lands on April 25, strongly suggesting that more information pertaining to Persona 5 S will be unveiled during the show.

Persona developer Atlus has already teased that Persona 5 R will be making its way to the PS4, with many speculating that Persona 5 S will launch on the Nintendo Switch. It hasn’t been confirmed if the mysterious game will be an updated version of Persona 5, similar to Persona 4 Golden, or a new spin-off game entirely.

The calling card’s reference to “new” Phantom Thieves indicates that this might be a brand new spin-off, which could put to bed the rumors of a Switch release. However, back in February a tweet from @JaridOhya gained plenty of traction, after the user claimed Atlus would release Persona 5 S on the Switch/PS4 in Fall 2019:

Nintendo collaborated with Atlus last year, bringing Persona 5‘s Joker into Super Smash Bros Ultimate as a playable character. This suggested to many that a Persona 5 Switch port was around the corner, though neither company has confirmed that this will be the case. We’ll just have to wait until April 25 for more information.
