Monster Hunter World Spring Update Reveal

Monster Hunter: World spring update reveal coming this week

Capcom has announced that a Monster Hunter: World Spring Update Reveal live stream is coming this week. The development team will be providing updates on the game and possibly talk more about its upcoming fall expansion Iceborne.

The Monster Hunter: World Spring Update Reveal will take place on Wednesday, May 9, at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. Capcom will be hosting the stream in Japanese on YouTube and in English over on Twitch.

Many players have been looking forward to this update since it may contain information about the upcoming Monster Hunter: World Iceborne expansion. When it was first announced, Capcom promised that the studio would reveal more information on Iceborne this spring.

Monster Hunter World Iceborne brings players to a new arctic environment. In addition to this, it adds a new “Master Rank,” which is the equivalent of “G-Rank” from the previous games.

Historically, Capcom never adds G-Rank to the first game of a new Monster Hunter generation. This meant that it wasn’t in Monster Hunter: World, which was the first and only fifth-generation title in the series. They instead added it to later re-releases such as Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. This means that Iceborne now counts among these updates, and is likely the first such update to come as DLC and not as a standalone re-release.

Naturally, the expansion will also provide players with a plethora of new monsters to hunt. This of course also means new weapons and armor that can be crafted from said monsters. So far, only one new monster has been teased: The expansion’s reveal trailer gave a hint that the flying wyvern Nargacuga will be coming to terrorize hunters.

With this in mind, this reveal live stream will likely give fans more information on what to expect when Monster Hunter: World’s Iceborne expansion hits PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One this coming fall.
