Developer and publisher Rebellion released an explosive new Sniper Elite V2 Remastered trailer. The launch trailer shows off the brand new features and visuals of the upcoming game. With only one day until the game’s release, the exciting new look at Sniper Elite V2 Remastered gives players even more to look forward to.
Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is, of course, the updated edition of Sniper Elite V2. Originally released in 2012, the stealthy tactical shooter takes place during the Battle of Berlin in 1945. The game follows the exploits of Lieutenant Karl Fairburne he sneaks behind enemy lines in 1945 Berlin. His objective? Capture or eliminate key Nazi scientists who are overseeing the development of a V-2 rocket program, and prevent the technology from falling into the Soviet Union’s hands. (Fellow history nerds may note that this is a twist on the real-life Operation Paperclip.)
Sniper Elite V2 is probably most infamously known for its x-ray kill cam. When players land a particularly good shot, the game will follow the bullet in slow-motion. Upon impact with the target, players get to see the catastrophic anatomically-correct damage they’ve caused. Gory? Yes. Satisfying? Very. Is it back in the remaster? Why, of course!
The trailer opens with Fairburne providing narration as Soviet and German forces battle it out on the streets of Berlin. Between their standoffs Fairburne prowls around, placing explosives, scaling buildings, and hopping along rooftops to line up perfect shots as he stalks his enemies. Through his scope, we see each of his main targets and are left wondering: can a lone man help win a terrifying arms race? The trailer culminates with Fairburne’s sights set on Adolph Hitler himself.
There are new goodies for players to sink their teeth into. Aside from the 4K and HDR visual updates, there are several new playable characters to choose from, all of which can be utilized in both the campaign and multiplayer modes. All remastered DLC is included as well.
Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is available May 14 on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
