Dauntless Ostian Repeaters

Dauntless Ostian Repeaters | How to get the repeaters

Dauntless has a ton of great weapons and gear for players to unlock and craft. If you’re looking to master all of the different weapons and armor, though, you’re going to need to know how to unlock them. While most of the weapon variations are available right from the start, you’re going to need to do a little legwork if you want to know how to get the repeaters. The Ostian Repeaters are the only true ranged weapon available to players in Dauntless, and this guide will tell you everything you need to know to unlock and add the Ostian Repeaters to your arsenal.

Dauntless Ostian Repeaters | How to get the repeaters

Progression can be a bit weird in Dauntless when you first start out in the game. After creating your character and playing through a short tutorial mission, you soon find yourself in Ramsgate, the main social area in Dauntless. Here you can do a number of important things like craft new weapons, craft armor, check out the Hunt Pass rewards, and queue up for other hunts.

After this first mission, you’ll gain access to the various weapons you can use in Dauntless. These weapons include the Sword, Axe, Hammer, Chain Blades, and War Pike. You’ll probably notice that we left the Ostian Repeaters off that list. This is because you won’t actually have access to the repeaters just yet. Unfortunately, you’ll need to complete a series of quests until you unlock The Ironclad Admiral.

Dauntless Ostian Repeaters

This quest begins after you complete City on the Verge. To start it up, head to Ramsgate and talk with Janek Zai. This is where you’ll handle any crafting for your Ostian Repeaters, as well as where you’ll be able to craft grenades and other explosive items that you unlock throughout your time playing Dauntless. After speaking to Janek Zai, head over and talk with Admiral Zai.

After you talk to the Admiral, you need to once more talk to Janek Zai. Speaking with Janek Zai will reward you with the Ostian Repeaters and two new quests: The Guns of Ostigaard and Launch the Barrage. These are additional quests that aren’t directly tied to unlocking the Ostian Repeaters.

How to Upgrade Ostian Repeaters in Dauntless

Now that you’ve unlocked the Ostian Repeaters, it’s time to talk about upgrading them. Unlock the other weapons in your arsenal, upgrading your Ostian Repeaters is a bit more complex. While you’d normally just craft a brand-new weapon to gain access to the various elements like Blaze, Shock, and Terra, the Ostian Repeaters use a parts system.

Your Ostian Repeaters are broken down into three main parts, the Barrel, Grip, Chamber, and Prism. Each part of the Ostian Repeaters is important and will need to be upgraded individually. This works similarly to how you’d craft and upgrade other weapons in Dauntless, so don’t get too lost in the fact that it looks so complex.

To gain access to the various elements like Blaze, Shock, Terra, and Blizzard, you’re going to need to craft the corresponding Barrel. Once that Barrel has been crafted, you can equip it and upgrade it just like you would upgrade any other piece of gear in the game. This makes it just as easy to buff the Total Power on your Ostian Repeaters as it would be on your Chain Blades, War Pike, Sword, or any other available weapon.

One thing to take into account with the Ostian Repeaters, though, is the fact that each part is taken into account when determining the Total Power of the repeaters. This means you’ll need to upgrade each part itself, from the Barrel to the Grip and even the Salvo and Prism. For example, looking at the current Power of our Inferno Barrel it is only 50. But, when you take the other Power levels of the Grip and Salvo Chamber into account, our Ostian Repeaters are actually rated at a Total Power level of 172, with an additional 40 points of Power available when we face off against Behemoths that are weak to Blaze.

Now that you’ve unlocked the Ostian Repeaters, you can dive into a hunt and learn how to use them. There are several special move combinations you can use to maximize the amount of damage you’re doing. Using your special ability on the Ostian Repeaters will allow you to throw a buff that can be picked up by any Slayer in your party. This buff will change based on which Grip you have active at the time.
