Anthem Cataclysm Public Test Servers

Unfortunately, you cannot access the Anthem Cataclysm public test servers if you own the game on Xbox One and PS4. During the Cataclysm livestream that took place on Thursday, May 30, BioWare revealed that the public test servers would only be available to PC players. Testing begins on Monday, June 3, and will run for two to three weeks.

As you can imagine, this has caused a stink among players on Microsoft’s and Sony’s consoles. The game is available to play on these two platforms, so it makes sense to include these groups of players in the testing phase, right? Not according to BioWare it seems.

Anthem Cataclysm Public Test Servers | Why is it PC only?

Anthem Cataclysm Public Test Servers

The news that the Anthem Cataclysm public test servers are only available to PC gamers hasn’t gone down well, but we have an idea over why BioWare and EA haven’t included Xbox One and PS4 for the testing phase.

By keeping the testing sample to one platform, BioWare and EA can identify where there are bugs, glitches, and other issues without having to sort out problems on three different platforms. This has been a feature of other major issues for the game since its February launch, so keeping the size to a minimum user base is their way of finding out what works and what doesn’t pretty easily.

That said, the Cataclysm update is coming to Xbox One and PS4 too. When it does, there will be teething problems on these platforms too. BioWare will have its work cut out resolving any big issues on Xbox One and PS4 then, which could turn people off from the game even more. We’ll find out soon enough when the game’s first big update goes live in the near future.
