There's reason to hope that Killer Instinct 3 may very well be announced for the Xbox One at E3 in just a couple of weeks.
Microsoft's Phil Spencer told Polygon that the company is planning to reveal a new title that is based on one of Rare's "historic" franchises. “Fans of Rare and Rare IP I think will be pleased with what we're going to show at E3. We had a limited amount of time today and a lot of story to tell. But Rare remains an incredibly important part of our development capability. That historic IP that they've built I think can play a real important role on Xbox One," he said.
While Spencer could be teasing any number of Rare IPs like Banjo Kazooie or Perfect Dark, the recent trademark drama over the Killer Instinct name has me thinking Spencer is alluding to a new entry in the beloved fighting series. After all, Microsoft could really use an exclusive fighter.
