Let me lay out a situation for you: you're playing Call of Duty: Ghosts at home with your new Xbox One. You are buying an Xbox One aren't you? No? Well just follow me for a second…. Anyway, your mom yells at you.
"Jimmy, get your ass down here and take out the garbage!!"
Dammit, not again mom. How much trash does our family produce anyway, you think to yourself. With Call of Duty being a super intense game, how can you possibly stop now? Thankfully, Xbox One can start and stop games at your command, allowing you to pick back up instantaneously after taking the cans to your curb.
Speaking with Polygon, corporate vice president of Microsoft Interactive Entertainment Business Ben Kilgore, whose name is only as awesome as his title is long, said Xbox One "is more like a phone a little bit. So you are not going to lose your save game stuff as you are switching between tasks."
What? That was really awkwardly worded. Let's try again.
Fulgore said that a player can stop gaming, come back the next day, say "Xbox On" and immediately pick up where he or she left off. No matter what you're doing on Xbox One, yelling "Xbox Pause" at it in a fit of rage will pause your activity instantly. Sony's PS4 will also have this tech, but it's nice to know a $500 box of circuits will be able to do the same thing the phone I carry around in my pocket can do.
