A reported leak has revealed that the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti SUPER is going to be the fastest graphics card on the market once it’s officially revealed in the next few weeks. Nvidia has certainly been mixing things up a lot with their graphics card lines in recent months and it seems like they’re all set to shake things up again with a brand-new addition to their RTX line. If this leak is genuine, it appears to be the fruits of the “SUPER” tease from late May 2019.
WCCFTech reports that the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti SUPER will reportedly include an unlocked chip from a 20808 Ti and 11GB of VRAM. It will likely have a number of cores somewhere in-between a Vanilla 2080 Ti and a Vanilla 2080. The unlocked chip is going to let card manufacturers really push the power levels of this new card — and it’s going to cost roughly the same (or slightly above) the price of the vanilla 2080 of today.
You can see the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti SUPER sitting at the new of the SUPER product stack, with five new cards rumored:
- Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti SUPER
- Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti SUPER
- Nvidia RTX 2070 Ti SUPER
- Nvidia RTX 2070 SUPER
- Nvidia RTX 2060 SUPER
The Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti SUPER and related cards in the new SUPER line will essentially be giving gamers a step up in quality while maintaining the price points of a lower tier card. For example, the RTX 2060 SUPER will have the core from the RTX 2070 of today but it will cost the same as a standard RTX 2060.
As always, this is a leak and should be taken with a grain of salt. While WCCFTech swears by their source, we haven’t been able to independently confirm this information.
What we don’t yet know is what’s going to happen with the current RTX cards on the market. Presumably, NVIDIA is going to have to drop their prices so they actually move off of store shelves. We’ll find out more in the near future, with the official announcement of the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti Super is expected to arrive on June 21, 2019.
