psychonauts 2 release date

Psychonauts 2 release date delayed until 2020

Double Fine Productions’ upcoming game Psychonauts 2 may need a little more polish before it gets into the hands of fans. A recent press release confirmed that the Psychonauts 2 release date has been moved back to 2020. The release did not specify the reason behind the delay.

Psychonauts 2 has been on our radar for quite some time now. With the first game rising to cult-classic status and a massively successful crowdfunding campaign for the second, fans have proven their eagerness to return to the quirky world Double Fine has created. Unfortunately, Psychonauts 2 now faces another delay and won’t be released until 2020. This isn’t the first time it’s been pushed back, but hopefully it will be the last. If it ends up giving fans a better product, a delay or two seems worth it.

The game showed off an excellent trailer at E3 2019, increasing the excitement for its arrival. Players will once again control Razputin Aquato, a recent graduate with powerful psychic abilities who realized his lifelong dream of joining the Psychonauts, an international psychic espionage organization.

Despite finally becoming a Psychonaut, there’s trouble afoot in Raz’s world: He must help the Psychonauts find a mole in their organization. There’s also something fishy going on with their boss, who hasn’t been the same since being kidnapped. With an out-of-touch boss and a mole trying to reanimate a dead super-villain, Raz and his friends in the Psychonauts have their work cut out for them. Using Raz’s psychic abilities such as telekinesis, levitation, or entering people’s minds, players will help him navigate a puzzling world in the third-person platformer, just like its predecessor. Fingers crossed that it won’t be much longer before we’re back in the surreal world of the Psychonauts.

Psychonauts 2 is set to launch in 2020 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It will also be made available through the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
