The Pokemon Go Water Festival 2019 has been officially announced by Niantic. With summer in full swing, there’s no better time for a water-themed event complete with Raids, bonuses, and increased Water-type spawn rates. This Water-typed themed event will kick off on Friday, August 23 at 1 PM PT. For those in other time zones, that’s 4 PM ET and 9 PM BST.

You’ve got a whole week to enjoy all of the activities and bonuses on offer. The festival will finish on Friday, August 30 at the same times that it began so make sure you’ve done everything you want before it ends.

Special Water-type themed Raids will be available all week long. Pokemon like Blastoise, Lapras, and Vaporean will appear in raids more frequently for you to battle and catch.

On Wednesday, August 28 there will an even more special Raid for players to enjoy. From 6 PM to 7 PM local time, Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf will appear in five-star Raids in their respective world regions. If you missed out on catching these critters when they were first introduced, you’ll get another chance midway through the event.

It isn’t just Raids that will keep you busy. The 2019 Water Festival will cause Water-type Pokemon to spawn more regularly in the wild and around water. They’ll also hatch more often from eggs, and you may even come across a Shiny Carvanha or Barboach if you’re lucky.

Kingler and Crawdaunt will be able to learn Crabhammer, a new Charged Attack, during the event. Water-type Buddy Pokemon will also earn Buddy Candy in half the time that it normally takes, and you’ll get twice the amount of Hatch candy for each egg you hatch.
