During today’s Nintendo Direct we learned a heaping helping about Smash Ultimate‘s future. The Banjo Kazooie fighter DLC release date was confirmed (it’s today). We also got a peek at the next fighter, Terry Bogard of SNK’s Fatal Fury. Additionally, we got the good news that the fifth DLC fighter for Smash Ultimate won’t be the last. There will more fighters coming in the future, and more details will come soon. Undertale’s Sans will be joining the game as a Mii Fighter costume as well.
Banjo and Kazooie are available in Smash Bros Ultimate now. Nintendo loves dropping new content without previous announcement, and the release of the latest DLC is just one of the many bombs dropped on today’s Nintendo Direct. You can get Banjo and Kazooie as part of the Fighters Pass for $24.99 or individually for $5.99. With the pack you’ll also get a new stage, Spiral Mountain, and new music.
Terry Bogard is the latest character reveal for Smash Ultimate, and is the first SNK character to be added to the illustrious roster. Terry will be the fourth out of five characters that will come with the Fighters Pass. We didn’t get the full details on Terry’s Challenger Pack, but we can assume you’ll get a new stage and music with him.
The Fighters Pass has almost run its course with only two characters left to go. However, Nintendo isn’t done with Smash Ultimate. It’s been revealed that more fighters will be released after the initial five. Whether that means there’ll be a Fighters Pass 2 or not isn’t known yet, and more information will be available in the future.
The final big Smash Ultimate reveal came during the stream after the Nintendo Direct. Sans from Undertale will be appearing in Smash Ultimate as a Mii outfit. That means he’s not quite a full character, but it’s close enough!
