Bid For Greatness Lets PlayStation Gamers Use Trophies To Bid On Prizes

Sony has launched a new campaign that allows gamers to bid on extremely rare PlayStation prizes with the Gold trophies they've earned playing PS3 and PS Vita games. The prizes themselves are all from the 'Greatness Awaits' TV spot that's been running in recent weeks—prizes like a Helghast costume, Dragonborn's sword, or a witch doctor garb from Diablo III.

You better have put in the work, because these auctions are expensive, trophy-wise. The current auction featuring a "Black Hand Outfit" from Killzone: Shadow Fall requires a minimum bid of 976 trophies at the time of this writing. Clearly the auction is designed to reward PlayStation's most dedicated fans. Thankfully, you don't actually lose any of the trophies you've earned by bidding, but they are acting as a currency of sorts.

To bid, log into your PSN ID on bidforgreatness.com. If any of you have enough trophies to actually win anything, let us know so we can tease you about never getting laid and having no social life (but really we'll be totally jealous of your superior gaming skills).
