Primary Auction For Atlus Complete, “Several Candidates” Selected For Round Two

The parent company of Atlus, Index Corporation, has just confirmed that a primary auction was held for its assets, namely the Japanese development studio, Atlus.

We got word of this just a few days ago, along with details that upwards of twenty different corporate entities including Sega have thrown their hats into the ring. Index has spoken out to make it official, saying that a “large number” of companies placed bids, and “several candidates” have been selected as potential buyers.

Sometime in the near future a second auction will be held for the selected candidates, at which point a final buyer will be selected. Index has not specified which companies have made the cut, but I sure hope Nintendo is in the running. I'd love to see what Atlus could due as an exclusive developer for The Big N.
