Pokemon Sword and Shield full Pokedex leak

Pokemon Sword and Shield full Pokedex reportedly leaked

The Pokemon Sword and Shield full Pokedex has reportedly been leaked via 4chan and Reddit. While Pokemon Sword and Shield has not yet officially been released, a handful of retailers seem to have broken street dates, and the game appears to be in the hands of a few lucky individuals. Some of those lucky few have, in turn, decided to report what’s in the Pokedex—and it’s not all good news for longtime fans of the game.

Let’s start with one of the biggest pieces of information in the Pokemon Sword and Shield full Pokedex leak from Reddit: According to the leakers, there are exactly 400 Pokemon total in the game. Considering the most recent count puts the total number of Pokemon in the franchise at 829, that means that less than half of them have made it into the game.

What’s worse, fans of the starter Pokemon are likely to find themselves disappointed if these leaks turn out to be true. Here are the starters that the Pokemon Sword and Shield full Pokedex leak state are in the game:

  • Grookey
  • Scorbunny
  • Sobble
  • Charmander
  • Pikachu
  • Eevee

And here are the starters that are reportedly not in Pokemon Sword and Shield, according to the leakers:

  • Bulbasaur
  • Squirtle
  • Chikorita
  • Cyndaquil
  • Totodile
  • Treecko
  • Torchic
  • Mudkip
  • Turtwig
  • Chimchar
  • Piplup
  • Snivy
  • Tepig
  • Oshawott
  • Chespin
  • Fennekin
  • Froakie
  • Rowley
  • Litten
  • Popplio

In short, the only O.G. starter Pokemon that are making it into the game are Charmander and Pikachu, and pretty much everyone else is left out in the cold.

A document is also being put together by a Redditor which is doing its best to track all of the leaked Pokemon. Some of the more interesting reveals are a fluffy Galarian Meowth, the much-awaited reveal of the super-fancy Galarian Rapidash, and a Galarian Mr. Mime (among others).

No matter how you cut it, having less than half of the overall Pokemon in the game is sure to be a disappointment to many, especially with the vast majority of starters reportedly not making the final cut. As always, take this Pokemon Sword and Shield full Pokedex leak with a grain of salt. Considering how close we are to release, though, I think it might be wise to brace yourself for some disappointments.
