One of the key benefits touted by publisher Electronic Arts with regards to its paid EA Access (PS4, Xbox One) and Origin Access (PC) subscription services is the availability of 10-hour trial versions. These allow players to go hands-on with upcoming EA games at no additional cost, before then being presented with a discount should they wish to purchase the title digitally and keep playing. Is there a Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order EA Access trial, though? Here’s what you need to know.
Does Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order have an EA or Origin Access trial?
While a majority of EA games do get EA/Origin Access 10-hour trials, they’re never a guarantee. Unfortunately, in the case of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, there’s no option for players to test the game out prior to spending money on the full version. Active EA and Origin Access members will still get a 10% discount when purchasing the game digitally, however.

Electronic Arts’ decision will no doubt come as a disappointment to many, though it isn’t too surprising looking at the company’s prior approach to EA and Origin Access trials. Games that are completely multiplayer-focused — including stablemate Star Wars Battlefront — generally offer players entirely unrestricted access. When a single-player component is introduced, however, the content on offer often becomes more restrictive.
This was the case with Star Wars Battlefront 2, which limited playability for its new campaign component despite still presenting unrestricted accessibility for the multiplayer suite. Whether EA is fearful of early spoilers or the fact that players might complete a campaign and choose not to transition from the trial to the full version is up for debate, but it’s clear that single-player demonstrations are not its priority.
As for premium Origin Access Premier subscribers on PC, they’ll still be able to play the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Deluxe Edition as soon as it launches.
