Earlier this week, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima posted a teaser image of Quiet, one of the new characters coming to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. If you've seen the image, then you're well aware of the fact that Mr. Kojima isn't afraid to push the envelope when it comes to sex appeal.
In fact, he took to Twitter to say as much, and believe it or not, his words have proven to be quite controversial. So much so, that his tweets on the matter have since been taken down. Here's what Kojima said:
I’ve been ordering to Yoji Shinkawa, character and environment artist for MGS V] to make the character more erotic, and he did it well. Recently I’ve been making characters this way. I create the setting thoroughly, how he/she spent early life, name, style, favorite phrase, fashion, action to stand the character out. The initial target is to make u want to do cosplay or its figurine to sell well.
Naturally, this has gone on to upset many gamers and industry professionals alike, including 343 Industries' David Ellis who shared his disdain for Kojima's approach on Twitter.
Do you agree with Ellis? Has Kojima gone too far? Sound off in the comments below with your thoughts on the matter.
