Overwatch has had the same big events every year, but Blizzard has recently been adding smaller events to change it up. The Overwatch Mardi Gras event is one of those smaller events and has just started to coincide with actual Mardi Gras. It will run until March 9 and focus on Ashe, the game’s other gunslinger that was added to the game in November 2018.
As with the other events centered around Baptiste, D.Va, Bastion, Ana, and Mercy, this Mardi Gras event will yield rewards the more people win matches and watch certain Overwatch streams. Granted your Twitch account is linked to your Overwatch account, you’ll earn certain sprays for watching two hours, four hours, and six hours of the designated Overwatch streams. You can see the schedule for those livestreams here. Also contrary to our previous headline, B.O.B. does indeed wear beads. We regret the error.

Playing the game nets bigger prizes as winning three games nets you two themed player icons or B.O.B. and Ashe, six wins a gold mask spray, and nine wins will warrant the Mardi Gras Ashe skin. Just remember to do all of this before March 9 and that wins in the new Experimental Mode also count toward this challenge.
Even though it seems like Blizzard dropped this event out nowhere, it had actually leaked earlier in a few different ways. Jeff Kaplan also hinted at it in the most recent Developer Update.
