To play as Saitama in One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, you’ll need to progress through the story. Once you complete a mission and play as him for the first time, you’ll then unlock him for Free Play and other modes.

Though the game is called “One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows,” Saitama isn’t the protagonist of your story. Instead, you’re tasked with creating a character, whom you can customize. Instead of playing as the overpowered One Punch Man, you’ll need to work to build your skills and power your character up, rising through the hero rankings.
You will still get to play as Saitama throughout the story, as he usually shows up to put the finishing blow on especially powerful enemies, in the same way that he does in the anime.
