Will Animal Crossing Switch be in stores? Expectant fans have made their Animal Crossing: New Horizons pre-orders, but now they’re worried that they might not be able to actually get their games when it launches on March 20, 2020.
Will my Animal Crossing Switch order be delayed?
Many major retailers in the U.S. are selling Animal Crossing: New Horizons. That’s no surprise; after all, this is a major release from Nintendo and the first time that the franchise is making its way to the Nintendo Switch. Some stores are even offering special pre-ordered bonuses for the lucky customers who are picking up the game early!

So, will Animal Crossing Switch be in stores? Let’s break it down by each location.
GameStop
It looks like things are good to go at GameStop according to a recent tweet from the company.
“To ensure we adhere to CDC-recommended social distancing guidelines, we will be selling DOOM Eternal a day early on Thursday, 3/19 as a safety precaution for our customers and associates,” the tweet stated. “Animal Crossing will release on Friday 3/20 to further help separate the crowds.”
As a bonus, you can also score some sweet stickers with your pre-order, so it might not be a bad idea!
Amazon
If you’ve pre-ordered New Horizons on Amazon, there’s some bad news — it looks like your Animal Crossing: New Horizons pre-order may arrive late.
Best Buy
There’s no bad news from Best Buy on a delay, so it’s probably safe to assume that the game will be available for pickup on March 20, 2020 as planned.
Target
Things seem fine at Target, too, but there’s a catch — the company is reducing its store hours and closing early on the Animal Crossing: New Horizons release date. If you are going to pick it up at Target, don’t wait too long to grab it!
