Activision and Infinity Ward’s CoD: Warzone — the standalone Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) battle royale mode — has been out for a while now. That’s given players plenty of time to approach or even reach the maximum Warzone rank, which begs the question: “Can you prestige in Call of Duty: Warzone?”
Stick with this guide to learn if the trademark CoD prestige system makes its return in Modern Warfare‘s Warzone mode.
Is there prestige in Call of Duty: Warzone?
If you’ve played CoD: Modern Warfare for long enough, you’ll likely already know that there’s no prestige system in Infinity Ward’s 2019 reboot. Since the Warzone battle royale mode is an extension of that game, albeit one also available as a free-to-play download, it adheres to the same progression mechanics. This means that currently, you cannot prestige in Call of Duty: Warzone no matter how much multiplayer experience (XP) you accumulate.

That being said, there are new forms of progression in Warzone enabling gamers to keep playing and earning content over long periods of time. The CoD: Warzone Battle Pass is essentially an alternative to prestige, featuring tons of earnable rewards for devoted players. Since the Battle Pass refreshes each in-game season, arguably it provides even more longevity than the Call of Duty prestige ranking system of old. It is also more costly as a premium service, however.
Call of Duty: Warzone publisher Activision and developer Infinity Ward have pledged to support the game well into the future, so it isn’t out of the question that a Warzone prestige system will be added via a future update. Only time will tell whether or not that happens, though, so stay with us for updates.
