New Special Edition Pokémon X & Y 3DS XL Systems Available Now

If you're dying to get your hands on Pokémon X & Y and can't wait for the game's international release on October 12th, maybe it's time to upgrade to one of the fancy Pokémon X & Y 3DS XL units Nintendo has unleashed today.

The special edition Pokémon X and Pokémon Y 3DS XL handhelds come decorated with the new legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal in white and black outlines over red or blue, depending on your preference. I got Pokémon Red when the original games came out, but I think the blue looks better with white and black designs on top.

With these new systems available on store shelves, you'd be forgiven if there was some way to obtain an early copy of Pokémon X & Y by buying at your local shop. Unfortunately neither of these packages come with a copy of the game, meaning you're only getting yourself prepared to explore the new Kalos region, not taking your first steps. Both 3DS XLs retail for $199.99.

Once again, Pokémon X & Y will be available internationally on October 12th on 3DS. We got our hands on at PAX Prime and posted a preview, but we'll have more on X & Y as we near release.
