Collecting outfits in the Mafia games lets you change your costume and customize your character. The ability to change your clothes exists in Mafia: Definitive Edition, but isn’t apparent as it is in its two sequels. Fortunately, it isn’t too hard to change into different outfits in Mafia: Definitive Edition once you know where to look.
How to change clothes in Mafia: Definitive Edition
If this is your first time playing Mafia 1 after playing Mafia 2 and 3, you’re likely wondering where your wardrobe is located. You can change your character’s outfit at will in the latter games, but that’s not the case in the original title.
You can’t change your clothes in story mode in Mafia: Definitive Edition. Unlock Vito and Lincoln, Tommy always dresses appropriately for each mission. This means your outfit will change as the game goes on, but you’ll have no control over it.
To pick a new outfit in Mafia 1, you must be playing in Free Ride mode. When in free roam, you can change Tommy’s clothes at any time by doing the following:
- Go to Salieri’s Bar in Little Italy.
- Head upstairs.
- Look for the white icon on the minimap that leads to the wardrobe.
- At the wardrobe, you can select any costume you’ve currently unlocked.

There are 32 different outfits that you can unlock in Mafia 1. You can obtain these in the following ways:

- Finding hidden costumes in the open world.
