Players wondering where to find Blue Pikmin in Pikmin 3 may be frustrated in their search for water Pikmin, but it’s not too difficult to get these new allies in Pikmin 3 Deluxe once the player knows where to look.
Where do I find Blue Pikmin in Pikmin 3 Deluxe?
A player who doesn’t know where to find Blue Pikmin in Pikmin 3 will be happy to hear that the water Pikmin are definitely in the game. However, it won’t be possible to get Blue Pikmin until a certain event takes place and the player has acquired Pink Pikmin in this surprising new Nintendo Switch game.
First, “Captain Olimar” is found by the player; Pikmin 2 veterans will recognize that this is actually Captain Louie. After Louie is rescued, he will steal all of the player’s juice and escape to the Garden of Hope, the game’s second level. Once Louie lands, he’ll smash through a wall and open up a new area of the level that the player could not access before.
The Blue Pikmin are very close to the landing zone; the player must simply head through the sand gate that they’ve already opened and then head through the gate that Louie smashed open immediately behind it. The Blue Onion will be stuck in the ground underneath a pool of water.
How do I get the Blue Onion out of the ground?
Now that players know where to find Blue Pikmin in Pikmin 3, one problem remains: the Blue Onion is stuck in the ground.
Players will need to have at least 3 Pink Pikmin (also known as Winged Pikmin) in their Squad to get the Blue Onion out of the ground. Players will unlock Pink Pikmin earlier in the game.
Throw the Pink Pikmin at the Blue Onion and they’ll pull it out of the ground, finally giving players access to Blue Pikmin. As with previous games, Blue Pikmin are the fifth and final type of Pikmin unlocked by the player; this pattern will likely continue in Pikmin 4 if Nintendo ever gets around to making it.
