Fans of Call of Duty: Warzone are eager for a new map. Even though Rebirth Island was just released in December 2020, Warzone players think that a new map is coming for Season 3. The game is coming up on its first anniversary, so it makes sense that something big is in store to celebrate.
Call of Duty: Warzone new map release date
We haven’t heard anything concerning a new map from Activision, Treyarch, or Raven Software. However, the one-year anniversary of Call of Duty: Warzone is coming up on March 10. It seems like there won’t be any festivities on the exact day, but it’d be surprising if there weren’t some major updates coming to the game soon.
The most likely time for a new map to release in Warzone is at the beginning of Season 3. We can estimate that the next season will launch sometime in mid-April, but the exact start and end times haven’t been released yet.
We also don’t have any clues as to what the new Warzone map will cover. It’s likely that it’ll tap into the Cold War theme present in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. That means it could take players to a Soviet-era installation or possibly feature an alpine or tundra-themed setting.
It’s also possible we may see more crossovers with Zombies. The Outbreak event has been highly successful, which make lead to more Zombies content in Warzone. It’s entirely possible we might get a whole Warzone map featuring locations and ideas from past Zombies games.
For now, we can only guess at when the next map for Warzone will drop and where it’ll take place. Activision has consistently dropped new content for the game, so it’s likely to impress no matter where it’s at. We’ll probably see when Season 3 starts sometime next month.
