There’s currently an issue in Outriders where players are getting stuck after clearing the path to the Old Man’s House. After completing the No Place Like Home side quest in the First City, there is a chance for players to get in a situation where there’s no way to exit the area containing the old guy’s hut. Fortunately, it’s not a game-breaking issue, though the fix might not be immediately apparent.
How to fix getting stuck by the Old Man’s House in Outriders
There’s a very particular case in which players can become stuck at the conclusion of the No Place Like Home side quest in Outriders. This can be frustrating, especially for those who are trying to work on their build. When players finish speaking to the Old Man, they get to pick between three items, and then they can interact with the Outriders symbol to travel back to their camp. However, if a player logs out in this area and reloads the game, they’ll still be there, but the travel symbol will be gone. This makes the player stuck by the Old Man’s House since there are no exits leading away from this area.
Fortunately, there’s an easy way to fix this, even for those playing solo. Players can log back out, and choose the option “Select Story Point,” and pick the most recent waypoint. This will transport their character back to the point where they accepted that story quest. The caveat is that some progress might be lost, but it’s better than being stuck and softlocking the game.
It’s possible that this issue may occur at other points in the game as well. Theoretically, any area with no exit point other than the temporary Outrider symbol travel points may result in players getting stuck if they log off there.
So, basically, the fix for getting stuck anywhere in Outriders is to use the Select Story Point menu to respawn elsewhere. It may mean that players have to replay part of the story, but that’s a small price to pay, especially for those who have invested tens of hours into the game.
