Earlier this week, a listing on Amazon Italy outed the existence of a next-gen version of Tomb Raider. Square Enix has since responded to the leak, providing the following statement:
It’s so hard to keep a secret these days! We appreciate all of the enthusiasm, however we don’t have any details to share just yet. That said, we highly recommend you keep an eye on any major gaming events happening in early December.
With VGX set to take place on December 7th, there's a good chance Square Enix is alluding to a reveal at the Geoff Keighley-run joint. Sure, it may just be a move by Square to squeeze as much money out of the title as possible after professing it a commercial failure, but it's hard to argue against a smoother, more polished Tomb Raider.
