If your PC freezes while you’re gaming, it’s highly likely that you’re going to need uninstall your graphics cards drivers and reinstall them. This issue is typically caused by problems with your GPU drivers, and can often only be resolved by doing a full reinstall of those drivers that circumvents any errors you may have faced with previous updates.

To uninstall graphics drivers, you can do the following:

This will uninstall drivers for both AMD and Nvidia GPUs (NOTE: As this is a third-party program, GameRevolution cannot verify its functionality and safety for everyone (warnings are displayed on the program that explain it may cause further issues) — but it worked for us.

After uninstalling the drivers, it will then simply be a case of reinstalling them via the relevant program such as GeForce Experience. After following the above, the issue should be resolved, and you should be able to go back to playing games without random freezes.

As a PC freezing at random intervals when gaming is typically related to problems related to GPU drivers, you should not need to do much else other than a fresh reinstall. However, if the problem persists, it is advised to do a fresh Windows reinstall. This has been found to work in some cases, though the GPU reinstall is certainly the most consistent way to address the problem.
