Psychonauts 2 Photo Mode

Psychonauts 2 Photo Mode: How to get camera and new filters

Is there a Psychonauts 2 Photo Mode to unlock? Double Fine’s long-awaited sequel is an extremely good-looking game with fun artistic direction, so it’s only natural players would want to take photos around the world. Is there an option for a proper Psychonauts 2 free camera mode, perhaps with some cool filters? Here’s how to get the Psychonauts 2 Otto-Shot camera, and how to unlock new filters for Photo Mode.

How to get the Psychonauts 2 Photo Mode camera

Psychonauts 2 Photo Mode

The Photo Mode of Psychonauts 2 can be unlocked by picking up the Otto-Shot camera at Otto Mentallis’ lab. Players can visit Otto’s lab as part of the game’s narrative around the halfway point, depending on how they are playing, although players can go straight to the lab as soon as they leave the Motherlobe Psychonauts headquarters building. This happens shortly after fixing Agent Forsythe’s mind.

Otto’s lab is the tall building directly opposite the entrance to the Motherlobe building. Head there and Otto Mentallis will greet Raz, introducing the various things he’s working on. In addition to a couple of items that are vital for either game progression or hunting down hidden items, including the spare brain needed for Nick Johnsmith, Otto also gives Raz the Otto-Shot Camera.

How to use the Psychonauts 2 camera and access Photo Mode

Players can access the camera in Psychonauts 2 by holding right on the D-pad, or holding V if playing on mouse and keyboard. This will bring up the game’s Photo Mode that players can use to take pictures throughout the game.

Where to get new Psychonauts 2 camera filters

There are several additional filters for the Otto-Shot Camera that can simply be purchased from the Otto-Matic store, including the one in Otto’s lab. Head to the store part of the Otto-Matic shop after Otto gives Raz the camera and there will be several filters there that the player can purchase with Psitanium, if they should choose. There are a few filters already attached to the Otto-Shot Camera, so these are only some optional upgrades if the player really wants to get creative with their picture-taking.
