The Elder Scrolls Online MMO Launches April 4th, 2014, Later For PS4 And Xbox One

Bethesda has announced that its hotly anticipated MMORPG based on the Elder Scrolls franchise titled The Elder Scrolls Online will drop on PC gamers April 4th, 2014.

The news comes following The Elder Scrolls Online's beta rollout in the past few weeks and by way of Bethesda who shares that "the latest chapter of the award-winning franchise brings the legendary experience online for the first time."

We've gotten hands-on with The Elder Scrolls Online several times. Jonathan Leack saw a massive PvP battle "featuring over 100 ZeniMax employees duking it out with fiery magic and sharpened steel" during his first-look preview.

Anthony said during his hands-on preview that his "ADD was spinning out of control. In what felt like a blink of an eye, my two hours had run dry" and Nick said after his hands-on time that "On production alone, The Elder Scrolls Online has Daedric-level appeal, and that's just based on its current closed beta. It already has the power to draw every Elder Scrolls fan into its ridiculously expansive world, and now it has the potential to challenge the mightiest MMOs on the market."

A major factor in challenging that MMO market will be Bethesda's leveraging of next-gen console markets later in 2014. While the PC game's release is slated for April, Xbox One and PS4 gamers will be able to join the fray in June.
