Halo Infinite campaign overview

Halo Infinite’s Craig meme embraced in campaign overview

The Halo Infinite campaign overview trailer has dropped, giving players a more comprehensive look at what they can expect from the story mode. Highlights include the sprawling open-world areas, grapple hook combat, and “The Weapon,” Master Chief’s new AI companion. For many meme fans, however, the best moment will have been when Craig the Brute made an appearance.

Craig meme spotted in the Halo Infinite campaign overview trailer

At the 5:00 point in the campaign overview trailer, the infamous Halo Infinite Craig the Brute enemy can be spotted. His character model has been overhauled, though Chief is quick to dispatch him with gunfire, instead of getting up close and personal with a melee attack.

The voice-over describes Craig and his Brute allies as “old favorites,” a nod to how viewers of the Halo Infinite reveal latched on to Craig’s poor quality design.

Thankfully, Craig appears to have experienced quite the “glow-up” and it’s good to see developer 343 Industries embracing the meme, rather than trying to sweep it under the rug.

It remains to be seen if Craig will play a larger role in the game. It would be unsurprising to see 343 add an Easter egg or two dedicated to the charming Brute.

Craig is joined by “surprising new threats,” including the “Skimmers” and an Elite assassin. All can be engaged and dispatched with the various weapons at Chief’s disposal, as well as his new grapple hook.

Stay tuned for more Halo Infinite coverage before and after it launches on December 8.
