Call of Duty: Vanguard’s deadliest weapon is the Bayonet attachment

Call of Duty: Vanguard essentially marks the return of Commando Pro from CoD: Modern Warfare 2. In that installment, players could score melee kills over insane distances by equipping a certain loadout — here, it’s really no different. The crazy Call of Duty: Vanguard Bayonet range lets players score kills from meters away; it doesn’t even matter if the underbarrel attachment never comes into contact with its unfortunate victim.

Call of Duty: Vanguard players are combining the Bayonet weapon attachment with the Reach and Lightweight perks, allowing for quick and easy melee kills over long distances. It’s reminiscent of the Commando Pro loadout from CoD: WM2, which has since become a meme due to its ridiculousness.

Here’s how to make the broken CoD: Vanguard Bayonet melee range build:

  1. Unlock the Call of Duty: Vanguard Bayonet attachment.
  2. Attach the Bayonet underbarrel attachment to an applicable Assault or Marksman Rifle.
  3. Equip the Reach (+1 Melee Range) weapon perk.
  4. Select the Lightweight (Increase Movement Speed) character perk.
  5. Perform the Bayonet Charge button prompt in-game.

Utilizing this loadout lets Call of Duty: Vanguard players get melee kills over huge distances. The Bayonet Charge isn’t necessary (standard melee is still hugely overpowered), though it does let players sprint at full speed before auto-killing anyone that enters its huge radius. There’s no requirement to aim or time the attack — the game takes care of everything, letting players score some nasty melee kills with little effort.

Currently, it isn’t clear if this is an intended feature or something that will receive a patch in the future. While those utilizing the mechanic are having a lot of fun, players on the receiving end are almost certainly hoping for a CoD: Vanguard Bayonet range update, patch, or hotfix.
