Battlefield 2042 loadout bug fix

An unfortunate bug in Battlefield 2042 is resulting in players unable to use their loadouts. Sometime it seems as if their loadouts are gone, while other times the option to change them is greyed out. As it happens, this is a fairly common bug. And while we expect it to be patched soon, there is a workaround you can use as a short-term fix.

How to fix Battlefield 2042 no loadout bug

The Battlefield 2042 loadout bug appears to be somehow related to crossplay settings. Disabling crossplay should reduce instances of the bug appearing. However, if you’ve already spawned with no loadout, you can fix the bug by creating a new one mid-match.

First up is the most immediate fix. It’s not clear why Battlefield 2042 will sometimes spawn you without any loadout options, but there is a workaround. Players on the Battlefield 2042 subreddit have discovered that you can simply create a new one mid-match.

The process takes a bit of time; you’ll have to pause the game and build a new one out manually. To do that, hit the menu button, then head over to Collection. From there, tab over to Loadouts and create a new one. With that done, you’ll be able to use your weapons and attachments in that match.

Granted, that’s not so much help for restoring your existing weapon customizations. Unfortunately, the developers themselves will have to fix that. However, a growing number of reports from players suggest that disabling crossplay will prevent loadouts from disappearing. Others suggest that it will merely reduce the likelihood of it happening. Either way, it’s worth a shot.

Ultimately, the loadout bug in Battlefield 2042 will need to be fixed by the developers. Creating a new loadout mid-match is a simple enough workaround, but it quickly becomes tiring. If you’re continually annoyed by this bug, disabling crossplay may prevent it from happening. Beyond that, we’ll just have to wait for a patch.
