Dying Light 2 players on PS4 are encountering a dialogue bug that is preventing the audio from playing. This glitch is doubly frustrating because it also makes the subtitles scroll by too quickly to read. For some players, it’s only occurring sporadically, but for others, it’s happening enough to impact the game severely.
Is there a fix for the Dying Light 2 dialogue glitch on PS4?
Right now, there’s not a definitive fix for the dialogue bug in Dying Light 2 on PS4. There are a few things players have discovered that can alleviate the issue, but for others, it’s a reoccurring problem.
The fixes we’ve found so far are:
- Restart the game.
- Uninstall and reinstall the game and make sure subtitles are turned off.
Unfortunately, neither of the above fixes are guaranteed to work. We’ve seen some players say the dialogue glitch was completely gone afterward, while others saw the bug come back regardless.
There’s a more severe form of dialogue bug that seems to be striking players more rarely. Sometimes conversations are repeating indefinitely, which soft locks the game. Fortunately, those that do get caught in a neverending dialogue can fix the issue, at least temporarily. Players report that restarting the game and loading the latest save will fix it, but it can strike at inopportune times.
The permanent fix for these dialogue glitches will likely come in a patch in the near future. The day one update for Dying Light 2 made over 1,000 fixes and adjustments to the game, and we’ll likely see another major bugfixing patch soon.
For the most part, the game has been relatively stable (but not entirely). Aside from the audio and dialogue bugs, the biggest complaint we’ve seen is about network issues. Fortunately, Techland is aware of these and is working on resolving them. Unlike the problem above, connection issues are likely caused by congestion rather than a bug.
