Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Coop

Does Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Have Online Co-op Multiplayer?

Since it’s best to play the game with a friend, not strictly as a single-player adventure, many have asked about Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga online co-op. Like other games by Traveller’s Tales, having another player be able to take down foes, collect studs, and laugh at all the jokes and references is a better experience. That said, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga online multiplayer support is rather complicated.

Is there Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga online co-op multiplayer?

Unfortunately, while the game does have functional local co-op for a friend on a couch in split-screen play, there is no official online support for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga online multiplayer. It’s a disappointment of course, considering that it’s 2022 and developers are still struggling to add online multiplayer.

But while the game doesn’t have multiplayer servers nor does it have plans to add them in the future, there are still a few ways you can create online multiplayer yourself.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga online co-op workarounds

There are several ways to finagle some sort of online co-op on specific platforms; namely, PC via Steam and the PS5 or PS4. This workaround is not ideal, as there will be some measure of input delay, but at least you’ll have some semblance of online co-op.

If you’re playing the game on Steam, you can activate LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga co-op by using the platform’s Steam Remote Play Together feature. By opening the Steam overlay, you can find a friend and then invite that person to a remote play session. After assigning the friend suitable controls, you can both play co-op like a normal couch co-op session.

If you’re playing the game instead on PS5 or PS4, you can activate the console’s Share Play feature. So long as you have an activate PlayStation Plus account, you can invite your friend to a PlayStation party and assign that person to a second controller. With that setup ready to go, co-op play should be smooth sailing.

For those who are more tech-savvy on the PC, you can modify the game’s local online co-op to bypass split-screen by having two monitors, one for player one and another for player two. It’s a tricky setup, but this way you both won’t have to squint as hard by sharing a single monitor.
