Twitter Mobile: How To Turn Off Sensitive Content Warning on iPhone and Android

Though the Twitter “Sensitive Content” warning can normally be dismissed with a button push or two, some iPhone and Android users are stuck with the message appearing and have no way to get remove it. Though the feature is a useful barrier to nudity, violence, and other sensitive subjects, it can also be a hindrance, with some false flags hiding inoffensive content. Thankfully, there’s a way to disable the warning message. Here’s how to turn off the “Sensitive Content” warning on iPhone and Android.

How to turn off the Sensitive Content warning on iPhone and Android

To turn off the Sensitive Content warning on iPhone and Android, mobile users should:

  1. Open and log in to Twitter via a webpage.
    • Although users are trying to change the settings within the Twitter app, the mobile version does not have the “Sensitive Content” box.
    • On mobile, the webpage can be accessed by any browser app, like Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, and more.
  2. Click your account information.
    • This can be found by clicking on your profile image in the top left corner.
  3. Scroll down and select “Settings and privacy.”
  4. Select “Privacy and safety.”
  5. Click the “Content you see” and make sure that the “Display media that may contain Sensitive Content” box is checked.
  6. Refresh your Twitter app and Sensitive Content will now be visible.

Most users will be frustrated by this long-winded workaround. It requires multiple steps outside of the official Twitter mobile app to complete. Fingers crossed that a future update will implement this feature into the Twitter iPhone and Android apps allowing users to have full control over their settings within the app itself.

In other Twitter news, Twitter has added a new 2D Data Dash Game to explain their Privacy Policy and announced a new Twitter Circle feature, which allows users to send tweets to a selected group of people.
