Instead of launching as a new TV channel with the usual pay-per-view model, the WWE Network originally announced in concept in 2011 will be a streaming channel service available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox 360. It will also be available on Android and iOS devices, Roku, and Kindle Fire, and on Xbox One and smart TVs in the summer.
Starting February 24 after RAW airs, for $9.99/month with a starting commitment of six months, the WWE Network will provide 24/7 programming of all 12 WWE pay-per-views, WWE NXT, WEE Superstars, Wrestlemania Rewind, The Monday Night War, WWE Legends' House, and plenty of pre- and post shows to fill in the gaps. And then there's a video-on-demand library with documentaries and pretty much every replay of WWE, WCW, and ECW pay-per-views, Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown, and Main Event after they air on regular network. Is that enough for you?
The price tag of $119.88/year might sound extravagant, but that's a huge discount compared to the price of getting every pay-per-view live (almost $700!). All content will be streamed in 720p HD quality and by the end of the year (or early next year) the network will be available in at least 10 countries. WWE Network will launch right in time before Elimination Chamber and the six-week climb to WrestleMania 30.
