After praising the Earthworks Audio Ethos microphone in my glowing GameRevolution review, I’ve been daily driving it for work and play. In my review, the Ethos earned itself a score of 9.5/10 with the only downside being the $699 price tag. Well, that is now no longer a problem, as Earthworks has announced an Ethos price drop down to $399. That’s a saving of $300!
New Earthworks Ethos price of $399
In a press release announcing the price drop, Earthworks Audio promised that it was “able to shave out costs through increased efficiencies and investments without cutting into build quality or performance characteristics.”
Despite the heavy reduction in price to the consumer, build quality and audio performance should be the same. What’s more, the Ethos units are still produced in New England, US, and support over 30 US families.
The new price of $399, which will remain in effect until the end of the year or while supplies last, puts it in direct competition with arguably the most popular livestreaming mic, the Shure SM7B, and makes it cheaper than another popular choice, the Electro-Voice RE20.
At $399, it’s sure to turn the heads of a lot of professional and enthusiast-level streamers and content creators looking to upgrade to an “endgame” microphone. If that’s you, the mic can be viewed and purchased here.
