Ever since Nintendo released the 3DS remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, gamers have been clamoring for similar treatment of Majora's Mask. The recently released A Link Between Worlds teases fans with the inclusion of the mask in Ravio's shop, but it looks like there may be even more to the story.
In an interview with Game Informer (via NeoGAF) Nintendo's Hiromasa Shikata teased fans by suggesting there really is a reason behind the hidden references to the offbeat N64 sequel.
GI: "We found Majora's Mask and another subtle reference to Link's Nintendo 64 adventure in Ravio's Journal. Are there any other Majora's Mask references that we missed?"
Shikata: "[Having Majora's Mask in Link's house] was a special request from Aonuma's production team. Now why would they ask us to do that?"
Why would they ask you to do that indeed, Mr. Shikata? Something tells me an upcoming Nintendo Direct will answer the cry of Majora's Mask fans, but in the meantime, this is all just speculation, so don't get your hopes up.
