Nintendo didn't perform particularly well last year. The company had to slash both its Wii U and 3DS console sales forecasts for the fiscal year considerably, and no easy solution appears to be in sight.
According to Japanese outlet Asahi (translated by NeoGAF), Nintendo CEO and president Satoru Iwata believes the company needs to focus even more on its younger audience, saying, "We haven't targeted children enough."
I'm sure many would argue with this statement, as the Big N has been releasing family-friendly games since the company's inception. Plus, the recent release of the 3D-less 2DS was done specifically to cater to the under younger crowd. Seriously, what more could Nintendo do to appease children?
Do you think Nintendo should take an even more kid-friendly approach? Would releasing more mature hardcore games be a wiser move? Is there some sort of happy middle ground where everyone wins?
