Final Fantasy XV has been in the works (in some form or another) for a very, very long time. Announced back in 2006 as Versus XIII, this upcoming fifteenth entry in Square's flagship role-playing franchise has been retooled and rebooted more times than we probably know. Fortunately, it looks like its release may not be all that far off.
"We can’t give too much information but certainly looking at Final Fantasy XV, it’s not as if it’s in competition with Kingdom Hearts III for resources or anything like that," series producer Yoshinori Kitase told Videogamer.
"It’s quite far into development now and it is being given a very high priority within the company itself, but that doesn’t mean Kingdom Hearts isn’t," he added, stirring up hope that it'll be a matter of months—rather than years—before we can play the game for ourselves. At least, I really hope that is the case.
Between Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV, which are you more excited for? To be perfectly honest, I find myself in the Kingdom Hearts III camp.
