Xbox 360 Hacker Fools SWAT Team

According to a video on KETV News in Omaha, 15-year-old Hunter Galines (is that last name, right?) was shocked when he heard a loud pounding on his door, opened the door to his room, and found a SWAT team full of guns pointed straight at him:

Open my door, the whole SWAT team down in the front door, I was like, oh my God, I'm gonna die.

Hunter claims that when he was playing his Xbox 360 (I doubt it was an "Xbox"… oh, local media), his system was hacked by someone from Canada who hoax-called the police and said that Hunter had been stabbed and his family was being held hostage at his house. This prompted a cavalcade of deputies, armed and ready, to flood the street surrounding the house, but soon realized that they had been duped.

I'm not sure how hacking an Xbox 360 and calling 911 have anything to do with each other, perhaps aside from using the information off the Xbox 360 to make the hoax call to the police more believable. The police also recommend that the best way to prevent hacking is to keep your gaming systems offline. That's kinda difficult when you're playing, well, anything on the Xbox 360.

The worst part? The police confiscated Hunter's gaming system.
