Konami Reveals Next-Gen Pro Evolution Soccer 2015

Konami didn't have much to show at E3 this year, with only Metal Gear Solid V available behind closed doors, but today the publisher has announced via press prelease that Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 for next-gen consoles under the mantra "The Pitch Is Ours."

The PES Productions team based in Tokyo and Windsor wishes to emphasize the core tenets that make the PES series work, specifically "total control, super responsive controls and renowned gameplay, where the user has unrestricted control over how they play." Konami ensures that the developers have reworked everything from the goal-keeping to the in-game shooting and is hopefully ready to compete with the likes of FIFA.

Specifically, the new shooting system bolstered by the FOX Engine takes both direction and power for more unrestricted shots, where as goalkeepers can narrow the angles for better reactions. Final passes will have knock-ons and searing low passes, and head-to-head match-ups have been improved by allowing players to position themselves better and to dribble more freely instead of solely relying on trick moves. Jinking runs and responsive sprints have been added to the arsenal too.

Beyond the photo-realistic rendering of over 1,000 players, PES 2015 plans to overhaul Master League Online where players can use accumulated GP or micro-transactions to add to their team. Updates to player data based on their performance will occur weekly, and players can even control the length of the grass just to hinder an opponent's passing game.

PES 2015 will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and other platforms in Fall/Winter 2014.
