[Update – 2/9/23: The prior build that was leaked was for Halo 3, not for Halo Infinite. Corrections made below.]
An alpha build of Halo Infinite has reportedly been leaked, revealing a trove of information on the Season 3 roadmap as well as further details on future content for the game. That said, leakers are seemingly hesitant to share more than just a few bits of info, considering that Microsoft will likely file copyright takedown notices across social media including Twitter, Reddit, and YouTube.
Halo 3 alpha build was leaked earlier
While we will not be divulging any specific details about what the leaks contain, the alpha build is reportedly out there in the wild. In late December 2022, a Halo 3 alpha build was also leaked, showing off a leaning mechanic that was scrapped.
That said, despite the hesitancy of some leakers, there’s still quite a lot of info coming out from various sources based on this build. As always, we recommend taking these with a few grains of salt, since there’s a lot that can change between an alpha build and the final release. Compared to other Halo Infinite leaks based on API files, though, the info being shared now looks to have more legitimacy.
Halo Infinite Season 3, which is called Echoes Within, is scheduled to start on March 7 and runs until June 27. Per usual, it will come with a new Battle Pass with 100 tiers, which includes a new weapon called the M392 Bandit. A new equipment piece called the Shroud Screen will help mask players from being detected by radar.
In January 2023, a large number of employees at 343 Industries were laid off by Microsoft. The impact this has had on Halo Infinite’s developer looks to be significant, with the latest report from Bloomberg saying that the restructuring has essentially forced the developer to start over “from scratch.”
