Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Banlist March 2023

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Banlist Update March 2023: What Are the Banned Cards?

The Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel banlist update for March 2023 features eight cards that will no longer be legal starting March 1. The update to the banlist addresses the concerns that the community has about certain decks, with cards like Amano-Iwata and Runick variants targeted.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel new banned cards for March 2023

The changes to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel banlist are as follows:

  • Amano-Iwata (Limited)
  • Runick Destruction (Semi-Limited)
  • Runick Freezing Curses (Semi-Limited)
  • Runick Slumber (Semi-Limited)
  • Fusion Destiny (Semi-Limited)
  • Genex Ally Birdman (Unlimited)
  • Thunder Dragonroar (Unlimited)
  • Orcust Harp Horror (Unlimited)

Amano-Iwata is being limited in order to prevent the potential power creep of stun decks that allow you to prevent your opponent from actually doing anything. Similarly, the Runick strategy is a stun strategy that relies on making sure your opponent can’t access cards that they need and has been a thorn in the side of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel players for quite a while now.

As per usual, the unlimited section of the banlist is for cards and decks that have passed their prime. It appears that Konami believes that the strategies that involve Genex Ally Birdman, Thunder Dragonroar, and Orcust Harp Horror are less relevant in the current meta, so they’ve chosen to unban these cards.

In other news, Powerwash Simulator is getting free Final Fantasy DLC, and No Man’s Sky has received a new update.
