The May 4 patch for Hogwarts Legacy added the option to enable Arachnophobia Mode. This accessibility option helps those with a healthy fear of spiders play the game. Here’s how to enable Arachnophobia mode and what you can expect when you toggle it.
How to turn Arachnophobia Mode on in Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy players can enable the Arachnophobia mode by opening the Accessibility menu in-game and toggling the “Arachnophobia Mode” switch. This will not require them to reload the game, as its effects are instant.
Arachnophobia Mode makes Hogwarts Legacy more accessible for those who don’t enjoy encountering spiders. When toggled on, the mode will:
- Replaces enemy spiders with new models.
- Reduces and removes spider sounds.
- Removes small spider ground effect spawners.
- Makes static spider corpses in the world invisible (Note that you can still collide with them).
- Spider images in the Field Guide remain unchanged
The new models are disembodied creatures that move around on four roller skates. They’re still a little creepy but don’t retain the attributes of spiders that can trigger people with arachnophobia.
This mode previously existed as a Hogwarts Legacy mod. This mod was one of the best Hogwarts Legacy mods on PC, but this patch makes the game more accessible on all platforms.
