FuturLab let players clean Midgar in PowerWash Simulator, and its next expansion is going to a similarly unexpected place. The studio announced the PowerWash Simulator SpongeBob DLC, which will let players spray the nooks and crannies in Bikini Bottom sometime in the summer.
The PowerWash Simulator SpongeBob DLC release date is nigh
While FuturLab didn’t specify exactly when in the summer it is launching (the precise date will be revealed in “the coming weeks”), it did reveal that the SpongeBob SquarePants Special Pack will be $7.99 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. This DLC adds six new maps that include Conch Street, the Bikini Bottom bus, the Krusty Krab, the Patty Wagon, the Invisible Boatmobile, and the Mermalair, all of which viewers of the show will likely recognize. FuturLab also stated that 10 new achievements will come with the DLC, too, but didn’t reveal what they would be.
As noted by the trailer, this is the first time the protagonist’s character model has been redesigned so that players wouldn’t look like a “landlubber.” This is most noticeable in the trailer through the appropriately nautical powerwasher.
This is the third bizarre DLC for the game because, as was previously mentioned, a past expansion put players in Final Fantasy VII’s Midgar, while another let users clean Lara Croft’s mansion.
