Whether Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom DLC or an expansion pass will be announced by Nintendo has been a source of speculation. As fans would expect based on the downloadable content for Breath of the Wild, there should be some extra content for this sequel. At any rate, we just don’t want the good times in Hyrule to end in TotK. Here’s what we know so far about potential DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Will there be Tears of the Kingdom DLC?
While Nintendo has not officially announced Tears of the Kingdom DLC, the official website for the game hinted that there will be DLC of some kind.
We say “hinted” in the past tense, because Nintendo has removed a sentence from the official webpage for the game. But through the magic of the Wayback Machine, which shows a cached version of the website back in February 27, 2023, a sentence near the bottom states “Full version of the game required to use DLC. Sold separately.”
Now, this sentence was deleted either because it’s inaccurate or because the implication that DLC exists is true and they don’t want to let the cat out of the bag, so to speak.
Either way, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Tears of the Kingdom DLC is already in the works. Breath of the Wild had an expansion pass that includes two DLC Packs. The first pack included The Trial of the Sword, Master Mode, and Hero’s Path Mode, while the second one includes nine armor sets in The Champions’ Ballad. So something similar here for TotK would make a lot of sense.
Besides, we need to know what has happened to our favorite Rito bard Kass, and only DLC will be able to answer this. We also want to know if we will be able to max out Link’s health and stamina in the future.
